We’ve raised $1.3M
Thanks to our partnerships with UPS, International Paper, Capital Group, Granger, West Coast Sand & Gravel, The Crail-Johnson Foundation and countless others, we’ve raised over $1.3M over the last 18 years. With each workday costing an average of $74,000, support from our partners is essential to continuing our beautification work in Compton.
We’re restoring Compton block by block
Because of our partners, we’ve beautified over 800 homes, 470 buildings, 50 schools, 60 church buildings, created more than 250 murals, and removed tens-of- thousands pounds of trash from public spaces throughout the City of Compton. With each beautification event, grateful residents marvel as their homes go from dull to vibrant in just a few hours, and astonished students return to freshly painted schools and a new sense of pride.
We’re on a mission to grow to 10k partners & volunteers
Our quarterly work days currently unite 300+ volunteers to renovate and revitalize approximately 5-10 worksites, including homes, businesses, schools, public spaces, and churches. Each month, we host Bright Lights Of Compton (BLOC) Lighthouse events where Compton residents join to clean and beautify neighborhoods across the City. With the help of our partners, we hope to grow the number of volunteers and BLOC partners to 10,000 by 2025.
